The NEW kubuntu.org website
Rick Timmis writes about the new Kubuntu website. We’re told the ‘entire site code’ is fully open source, and we are given a link to its home on GitHub. We’re reminded what the open source nature of the code means, inviting us to fork or contribute to it too. The switch from WordPress to Hugo is also mentioned, with thanks given to those involved with the Kubuntu family.

Ubuntu Server Gazette - Issue 9 - Testing the waters with DNSSEC
Lukas Märdian reminds us Canonical is ‘committed to enhancing security for users’, and here discusses DNSSEC. We’re reminded it was hoped to roll out with Ubuntu 25.10, but was not completed. The reasons are discussed, and why that change was rolled back; with thanks given to Nick Rosbrook (enr0n). This post tells users how they can enable DNSSEC if using Ubuntu 25.10, talks about the updated documentation, and serves as a testament to the open development model.

Intel Releases New CPU Microcode, Publishes 30 New Security Advisories
Michael Larabel writes about Intel releasing new CPU microcode for Linux users and making public 30 new security advisories. We’re given some details of microcode-20251111, a link to Intel’s GitHub post, plus a link to Intel’s security center for more details on the security advisories if what Michael provided wasn’t sufficient.

sudo-rs Affected By Multiple Security Vulnerabilities - Impacting Ubuntu 25.10
Michael Larabel warns us of two security vulnerabilities impacting sudo-rs on Ubuntu 25.10. Michael starts by mentioning other problems with performance, executable and unattended upgrade breakage, before getting to the security issues. We’re given a link to the bug report (now public) and told fixes (SRU) have been released. Brief discussion of the problem is given, and a screenshot, before moving to sudo-rs 0.2.10 being released with these and other fixes and changes.

Miracle-WM Adds Accessibility, Touchpad & Animation Options
Joey Sneddon tells us of the latest Miracle-WM update. Joey reminds us that it’s a Mir-based tiling window manager. We’re given some details of the “raft of accessibility features” in Mir that can now be utilized in miracle-wm 0.8.0. We’re briefly told of these features, given an embedded YouTube video by Matthew Kosarek. We are told how we can install it, and use it with a reminder that it’s a WM and not a desktop, so we’re given a pointer to the project wiki for configuration details.
